Saturday October 17th

Please join us for an Italo-American wine tasting on Saturday October 17th.

American viticulture owes a significant debt to Italian immigrants that brought their passion for wine to the new world. It is not just the fractured Mondavi family or Franzi that led the revolution in CA wine making prowress.

We will be tasting wines from Italy and the US that are made from the same grape type -- Pinot Grigio there, Pinot Gris here. Unfortunately, every time I go to a wine shop I find another interesting wine combination to contrast. So far we will taste two whites(Pinot Grigio) and a bunch of reds - Sangiovese Super Tuscans, Primitivo and Zinfandel, and several surprises.

The fee for the evening will be $20. As always, the non-drinking designated driver pays no charge. Please bring a wine friendly appetizer to share with your friends. We will begin the event at 7:30 and finish by 10:30PM.

Please RSVP to epmolander@gmail.com or Wine@abnewcomers.org by Thursday October 15th so that I can ensure that I have the right amount of wine.

Cheers
